During a press conference where he answered NTV’s questions, Ukrainian leader Zelenski expressed that he shares an extremely strong relationship with President Erdoğan.

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski stated that Turkey plays a crucial role for Ukraine and that they wish for Turkey to be one of the guarantors of Ukraine’s security after the war. During a press conference held yesterday, Zelenski, responding to questions from Deniz Berktay on behalf of NTV, emphasized the excellent relationship he has with President Erdoğan.

Zelenski mentioned that Turkey has made significant efforts regarding Black Sea security, highlighting that the food corridor initiative ensuring the safe passage of food ships from Black Sea ports between 2022-2023 was initiated by Turkey but later blocked by Russia. He mentioned discussing with President Erdoğan the role of Turkey as one of the countries guaranteeing Ukraine’s security. Zelenski noted that President Erdoğan agreed for Turkey to be one of the guarantors of Ukraine’s security. When asked about Ukraine’s red lines regarding a peace agreement, Zelenski expressed Ukraine’s readiness to engage in peace talks with Russia in any way.

Finally, the Ukrainian leader pointed out that Russia is the side that does not desire peace.
