In the UK, a young man who murdered three family members and planned a school massacre has been sentenced to a minimum of 49 years in prison.
Nicholas Prosper, a 19-year-old who killed three family members and aimed to become the ‘most famous school shooter of the 21st century’ by planning a school attack, has been punished with a minimum of 49 years behind bars. Prosper, who committed the murders at the age of 18 in September 2024 in the town of Luton in North London, shot his mother Juliana Falcon (48), sister Giselle (13), and brother Kyle (16) in their home. It was found that his brother Kyle suffered over 100 stab wounds. Judge Bobbie Cheema-Grubb, announcing Prosper’s sentence, stated, “Your goal was to attain a bad reputation. You wanted to be remembered as the most famous school shooter of the 21st century even after your death. The number of deaths you aimed for was 34; that was more than the massacre at Virginia Tech in 2007, which stands as the deadliest school shooting in the USA.” In a statement to the police, Prosper revealed his plan to kill two teachers along with four and five-year-old students at a nearby primary school where he had previously been educated. He stated that after killing his mother and siblings in their sleep, his plan was to carry out the attack and then commit suicide, aiming to orchestrate a more deadly attack than the Sandy Hook and Virginia Tech massacres in the USA. After killing his mother, Prosper was reported to have placed a novel titled ‘How to Kill Your Family’ on her body. According to evidence presented in court, Prosper drew diagrams depicting the classroom layout of the St. Joseph Catholic Primary School in Luton, adding notes saying ‘kill them all’. It was also mentioned that before the attack, he reenacted the murders in the kitchen and recorded himself on video. “YOU ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, YOU MAY NEVER BE RELEASED”
Experts indicated that Prosper demonstrated symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and he was sentenced to a life term in prison that will last at least 49 years. Taking into account the time he had previously spent in prison, it was revealed that he would remain imprisoned for 48 years and 177 days. The judge also stated, “You are extremely dangerous, and you may possibly never be released.” Additionally, the judge emphasized that Prosper refused to leave his cell to delay the court hearing and showed no remorse. “YOU LIVE ENTIRELY IN THE ONLINE WORLD”
Information presented to the court about Prosper, who was expelled from school in 2023, stated that he was “a person who almost had no social contact in the real world and lived entirely in the online world.” An analysis of his internet history revealed that he had a keen interest in “famous killers around the world, perpetrators of mass school shootings, and rapists.” “A PART OF MY SOUL DIED”
The defendant’s father, Ray Prosper, stated in court, “The day I received this horrific news, a part of my soul died as well. This is a situation that resulted in loss for everyone. We have lost four family members.”
