A defendant who entered the tarmac and hugged German Chancellor Scholz at Frankfurt Airport was found guilty of two charges and fined.

Approximately a year ago in Germany, the defendant who entered the tarmac at Frankfurt Airport and hugged Social Democratic Party (SPD) Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz was fined 4,500 euros. The Frankfurt local court imposed a total fine of 4,500 euros on the defendant Paschlis D. for “endangering traffic safety” and “violating residential privacy,” and also imposed a 2.5-year driving ban.

“UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS DURING THE INCIDENT” It was noted that the defendant, who was under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident, expressed remorse in court. Paschalis D. stated that he had mistakenly gotten into this situation, and apologized, describing it as both a sweet and bitter experience. The defendant Paschalis D. had joined Chancellor Scholz’s convoy on the road back from the European Central Bank’s event in May 2023, entering the tarmac at Frankfurt Airport with his vehicle and hugging the Chancellor before his flight. This incident had sparked debates in Germany at that time regarding the Chancellor’s security.
