This year, winter vegetable planting was carried out on 130 thousand decare area in the Samsun Bafra Plain. The winter vegetables produced in the Bafra Plain, irrigated with water from the Kizilirmak River, are sent not only within the country but also abroad. Approximately 130 thousand decare area in the Bafra Plain was planted with winter vegetables. In the plain, all varieties of cabbage, leeks, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, and other products are grown. The planting process, which started in June, is completed in July, while the harvest continues until the end of April. Osman Tosuner, President of the Bafra Chamber of Agriculture, said, “Winter vegetables are sent to the entire Black Sea coast and Georgia, as well as Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Erzurum, Kars, Diyarbakir, and other eastern provinces. We send products to 60 out of 81 provinces in Turkey.”
