Minister of Energy Alparslan Bayraktar mentioned that the public offering of EPİAŞ could be considered following the expansion of its activities.

Minister Bayraktar announced that the activities of the energy exchange Energy Markets Operation Inc. (EPİAŞ) will broaden in the coming years.

During a two-day conference organized by the Atlantic Council, Minister Bayraktar stated in last night’s session that the activities of EPİAŞ, currently operating as an electricity and natural gas exchange, will diversify in the future. Bayraktar said, “We aim for our country to become a nation that prices carbon by 2026; we also aim for a carbon market to be established within EPİAŞ. We also aim for EPİAŞ to become a commodity exchange.” When asked about the potential public offering of EPİAŞ, Bayraktar indicated that it could be offered to the public after its activities expand, stating, “Not at the moment, but we will assess once these mentioned activities are established.”
