The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, shared a post on X regarding the attack by the Israeli military on a site within the Al-Shifa Martyrs Hospital campus on October 14, where displaced individuals were residing. Using words like “Shocking reports are coming from the Al-Shifa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza. News that the people taking refuge here are being killed and injured, with some sustaining serious burns” Ghebreyesus emphasized the need to protect hospitals. Ghebreyesus stated, “We are again calling for the attacks to stop. We are calling for peace.”
5 KILLED, 65 INJURED As a result of Israel targeting the tents of displaced civilians within the Al-Shifa Martyrs Hospital campus in the town of Deir al-Balah in the central part of the Gaza Strip, many tents were rendered unusable. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) reported that as a result of Israel’s attacks on the Al-Shifa Martyrs Hospital they support, 5 people were killed and 65 were injured.
