Mehmet Oz, appointed as the CMS Director in the USA, was born on June 11, 1960, in the city of Cleveland, in the state of Ohio in the USA. His mother, Suna Oz, and his father, Mustafa Oz, moved from Konya to the USA in 1955 for their education. He has two sisters named “Seval” and “Nazlım.” He completed his undergraduate education at Harvard University. Mehmet Oz conducted research on minimally invasive heart surgery, complementary medicine, outcome analysis in heart care, and heart transplantation. He was named the 3rd most influential person of the year in 2011 by Forbes magazine. He was chosen as the “Doctor of the Year” by Hippocrates Magazine, “Healer of the Millennium” by Healthy Living Magazine, “Best Doctor of the Year” by New York Magazine, and “Global Leader of Tomorrow” by the World Economic Forum. He was also selected as the “Turkish-American of the Year” in 1996. The couple married Lisa Lemole in 1985 and they have four children named “Daphne Nur,” “Anabella Sezen,” “Zoe Yasemin,” and “Oliver Mustafa.”
