Norway has issued an international warrant for a person alleged to have played a role in distributing exploding paging devices in Lebanon. Aste Dahle Sundet from the Norwegian National Criminal Investigation Service made a statement to the Associated Press (AP) regarding the investigation into how thousands of paging devices were detonated in Lebanon. It was disclosed that an international warrant has been issued for an employee of a Norway-based company as part of the investigation, although the individual’s name and nationality were not revealed. On the other hand, the Norwegian news agency NTB reported that the sought individual is a 39-year-old man who moved to Norway from a different country 12 years ago and now holds a Norwegian passport. According to NTB, the person being sought is believed to be one of the founders of a Bulgarian company suspected of supplying the exploding paging devices in Lebanon. It is suspected that the individual, who has not been reached since last week, has fled to the United States. EXPLOSION OF PAGING DEVICES AND RADIOS IN LEBANON On September 17, simultaneous explosions occurred in paging devices used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon. The explosions resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals, including two children, and left 2,323 people injured. Additionally, on September 18, a large number of radios were detonated in the country, resulting in the death of 25 people and more than 608 injuries. While Lebanese officials have held Israel responsible for the incident, Israel has not made any statements on the matter. Since October 8, 2023, sporadic conflicts have escalated along the Israel-Lebanon border.
