September 27, 20242 Mins Read

The Capital Markets Board (SPK) has issued a statement regarding posts on social media platforms that contain misleading information with the purpose of obtaining benefits by using the names of the Board and industry workers.

According to the SPK statement, recent complaints received by the Board have mentioned posts on social media platforms where the names and images of the Board and industry workers are used to provide misleading information in order to gain benefits. The statement included the following remarks: “Similarly, it has been observed that individuals who are not authorized by our Board for investment advisory services and similar capital market activities have attempted to mislead investors and make them victims. It is of great importance not to trust misleading posts in order to avoid falling victim to any fraudulent activities. Necessary investigations are being conducted by our Board for such posts and criminal complaints are being filed.

Fake accounts and documents created with the SPK logo and name have been encountered on social media platforms as well.

It is emphasized that the official website of our Board is https://spk.gov.tr/, the official Twitter account is @spkgovtr, and the official Instagram account is sermaye_piyasasi_kurulu, and it is important not to trust any other accounts.”
