Authorities in Poland have launched a “war” against rats invading the city of Poznan. The municipality has instructed for rat traps to be placed in hospitals, restaurants, and residences. According to Poland’s public broadcaster TVP World, during the restoration works carried out to renovate the historical Market Square of Poznan, rat nests were destroyed, causing the rodents to spread throughout the city. In response to rats spreading across the city, the Poznan Municipality took action. Under the “mandatory pest control measures,” the municipal government ordered for rat traps to be placed in hospitals, restaurants, and residences. Municipal officials, in order to protect against rodents, have urged for holes and cracks in buildings to be sealed and homeowners to set traps to catch rats.
