The US Embassy in Syria has warned American citizens about potential attacks that could take place during Ramadan. The Embassy in Syria cautioned its citizens about the “increased likelihood of attacks” during the upcoming Ramadan holiday. The statement released on the embassy’s website said, “The US Department of State is warning American citizens about the increased possibility of attacks targeting US embassies, international organizations, and Syrian public institutions during the Ramadan holiday.” Additionally, the statement mentioned that “attack methods could include individual assailants, armed attackers, or the use of explosive devices.” According to the statement, Washington advises its citizens not to travel to Syria due to “significant risks such as terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, hostage-taking, armed conflict, and arbitrary detention.”
