The customs tax feud between the US President Donald Trump and China has escalated. Following the reciprocal customs tax announced by President Donald Trump on April 2, China’s retaliation has turned into a duel between the two countries.

In a statement on his social media platform Truth Social, US President Donald Trump said, “China has received a much heavier blow than the US. They, along with many other countries, treated us terribly in an unsustainable way. We used to be a stupid and helpless punching bag, but not anymore.” Trump emphasized that more than $5 trillion worth of investments have returned to the country, stating, “Right now, over $5 trillion has been invested and rapidly increasing. This is an economic revolution, and we will win. It will not be easy, but the ultimate result will be historic. We will make America great again.” China had announced that in retaliation to the 34% customs tax imposed by Trump, the same rate of customs tax would be applied to all US goods.
