A new development has emerged in the US-Ukraine relations. The spokesperson for the US Department of State disclosed that the US Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, has resigned from her position, stating, “Ambassador Brink is leaving her post. She has been serving in a war-torn region for three years, which is a significant period of time.”

Brink, reportedly stepping down voluntarily, was appointed to the said position by former US President Joe Biden in May 2022. The identity of her successor remains unknown, but undisclosed sources mentioned that Christopher Welby Smith, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Eastern Europe at the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs of the US Department of State, is likely to be at the forefront. ZELENSKYY CRITICIZED BRINK

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized Brink in his remarks after a Russian attack in his hometown of Krivoy Rog which resulted in the death of 20, including 9 children, for not explicitly holding Russia responsible for the attack. He stated, “Such a powerful country, such a strong people, yet such a weak response. They are even afraid to say the word ‘Russian.'”
