Urgent Expropriation Decisions in Energy Sector

Some real estates in various cities of Turkey will be urgently expropriated for energy and infrastructure projects. Presidential decisions regarding energy and infrastructure projects have been published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, the relevant real estate in Ankara for the construction of Censtorage-5 Cengiz GES electric power plant will be urgently expropriated by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority to be registered in the name of the Treasury. Within the scope of the “154 kV Hitit TM (Çorum-1) TM Connections Energy Transmission Line Project” belonging to the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ) in Çorum, the ownership of certain real estates for direct locations and the easement right for the conductor swing allowance will be urgently expropriated. As part of the “154 kV Nallıhan TM Connection Lines Project” of TEİAŞ, some real estates intersecting with the routes will have the ownership of direct locations and the easement right for the conductor swing allowance urgently expropriated by TEİAŞ. In Nevşehir, for the implementation of natural gas pipeline projects in Derinkuyu and Acıgöl districts, the required real estates in the routes of these projects, fixed facilities, access roads, energy transmission lines, cathodic protection lines, and anode beds will be urgently expropriated by the General Directorate of Pipeline Transport Company (BOTAŞ) through ownership or permanent/temporary easement rights. In Sivas, the necessary real estates needed to continue mineral production in the IV. group mine (iron) licensed field under S:209 will be urgently expropriated by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG). In Kırklareli, the real estates identified within the scope of Vize District Natural Gas Pipeline Project and the real estates necessary for the construction of fixed facilities, access roads, energy transmission lines, cathodic protection lines, and anode beds within the project will be urgently expropriated by BOTAŞ.
