A meeting of the Turkey-USA trade cooperation working group was held. This group will establish strategies to enhance the commercial relationship between the two countries. As part of the joint trade action plan between Turkey and the USA, a working group was convened at the Ministry of Trade to coordinate commercial relations in the new period. According to a written statement from the Ministry, the meeting led by Deputy Minister Mustafa Tuzcu discussed the work to be carried out following the trade policy announced by the USA for the new period, in collaboration with relevant institutions. The working group will determine policies and strategies to counter the possible effects of protectionist tendencies that are projected to increase in global trade through the development of US-Turkey commercial relations in line with the conditions of the new period. During this process, the focus will be on thoroughly examining efforts to strengthen US and Turkey commercial relations in line with the conditions of the new period. The ACTION PLAN WILL BE UPDATED At the meeting, it was decided to update the action plan aimed at increasing the trade volume to the set target of 100 billion dollars with the USA. As part of the action plan, data analyses and market research on sectors with potential in the US market will be accelerated in the new period, while intensive trade delegations will be initiated in prioritized sectors with this country, and programs will be organized with important supply chains in Turkey. In the new action plan, priority will be given to the International Competitiveness Development (UR-GE), Turquality, and HİSER (Service Sector Competitiveness Enhancement Project Support) programs that bring companies and cooperation organizations together by considering the market scale of the USA; promotion activities, delegations, and fairs will be supported at the state level. While all activities in the action plan are prepared on a state-by-state basis, supports will be developed to boost foreign logistics networks and increase alternatives. The aim of the action plan is to have fairs held in the USA included among prestigious fairs. MINISTER BOLAT IS GOING TO THE USA Additionally, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat will travel to Washington, the capital of the USA, in May to attend the 12th Term Meeting of the Turkey-USA Trade and Investment Council (TIFA).
