In Brazil, a yoga class is being used for pet adoption. Cats and dogs awaiting adoption roam around the yoga class. While participants practice yoga, they also search for their potential owners. They wander among those doing yoga, sniff, and even try to steal their belongings. Once they choose their owner, they stick by their side.

LEAVING THE CLASS WITH THEIR NEW HOME’S NEW RESIDENT Participants chosen by the animals in yoga class leave the class with their new home’s new resident at the end of the lesson. Interacting with the animals also serves as therapy for those not considering adoption. One participant mentioned that it was a more fulfilling experience than expected.

“PUPPIES ARE CHOOSING YOU IN CLASS” The creator of this unique experience stated, “I wanted to reach more people. I thought, why not do a yoga class with pets? It’s a delightful experience. In class, little kittens and dogs are choosing you. We created pet yoga with yoga teacher Karen.” Organizer Bruna Tedeschi mentioned that pet yoga has been ongoing for a year.
