In the United Kingdom, the unemployment rate rose by 0.1 percent to 4.4% in a three-month period covering November 2024 to January 2025. The UK’s Office for National Statistics (ONS) has released data on unemployment and wages for the period from November 2024 to January 2025. During this period, unemployment increased by 0.1 percent compared to the previous quarter to reach 4.4%. Unemployment also rose by 0.3 percent on an annual basis. The data showed a 5.9% annual increase in regular pay excluding bonuses and a 5.8% increase in total pay including bonuses. Adjusted for inflation, there was a 2.1% annual increase in both total and regular wages.
