Ukraine has announced that at least six people were injured in Russia’s attacks on Kiev and Mykolaiv. Russia reported the destruction of 11 Ukrainian drones.
Ukrainian officials stated that at least three people were injured and multiple fires broke out as a result of the missile attack on the capital Kiev by Russia in the early hours this morning.
After the Ukrainian Air Force issued a warning of attacks including border areas with Poland, an air attack warning was issued for the entire country. Kiev Governor Vitali Klitschko reported on Telegram that at least three areas had fires breaking out due to the attack. Two civilians injured in the Darnytskyi region were taken to the hospital. Klitschko urged people not to leave shelters.
Residents in the Kiev region reported hearing numerous explosions and the sounds appeared to be from active defense systems. The scale of the attack is unclear, but prior to this attack, Russia had also attacked the Mykolaiv region in southern Ukraine, injuring three people. These attacks came after Russia’s assault on the city of Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine, where at least 19 people, including nine children, lost their lives.
Russia and Ukraine had agreed to temporarily halt attacks on energy infrastructure through the initiative of US President Donald Trump. While the two countries continue reciprocal attacks, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Ukrainian 11 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were destroyed by air defense units during the night. According to the statement on Telegram, the UAVs were rendered ineffective over the Kursk and Belgorod regions, as well as the southern Rostov region. Rostov Regional Deputy Governor Yuri Slyusar stated in a Telegram post that there were no casualties in the attack. Reports in the media indicated that parts of the downed UAVs hit an administrative building in the region.
