Turkey Achieves a Revenue of 154.7 Million Dollars from Coffee in 5 Years

The coffee export of Turkey amounted to 154,690,881 dollars in approximately 5 years, covering the period from 2020 to August 2024.

According to a compilation made for the “World Coffee Day” celebrated every year on October 1st, this day has been officially observed since 2015. Within the scope of this day aimed at increasing awareness about the economic value and social impacts of coffee, attention is drawn to the importance of sustainable coffee production. Despite not growing coffee beans domestically, Turkey exports products in this field by processing the bean. According to the data from the Special Trade System of the Turkish Statistical Institute, the country’s coffee and coffee-related products exports amounted to 154,690,881 dollars in approximately 5 years, covering the period from 2020 to August 2024. Coffee exports were at 20.2 million dollars in 2020, increased to 23.8 million dollars in 2021, reached 36.5 million dollars in 2022, and grew to 39.7 million dollars in 2023. The export in the January-August period of this year also amounted to 34.5 million dollars.

COFFEE EXPORT TO 146 COUNTRIES

The countries showing the highest demand for Turkish coffee varied over the years. The United States, the Netherlands, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Belarus, and Saudi Arabia were the countries with the highest coffee exports last year. During this period, Turkey’s coffees satisfied taste buds in 146 countries. Belarus, TRNC, Saudi Arabia, and Azerbaijan were among the countries that most preferred the Turkish coffees sold in the first 8 months of this year. Turkey’s coffee imports amounted to 1,504,122,096 dollars in approximately 5 years, covering the period from 2020 to August 2024. Coffee imports were 187.6 million dollars in 2020, 221.1 million dollars in 2021, 374 million dollars in 2022, and 437 million dollars in 2023. Imports in the January-August period of this year were recorded at 284.4 million dollars. Brazil, the Netherlands, and Germany stood out as the countries where Turkey purchased the most coffee.
