Trump’s Carefree Attitude Discussed: “Living according to a caricature of a mad king”

Criticisms arose over the footage of U.S. President Trump on the golf course, shaking up the world with his global economic moves.

After igniting sparks in global financial markets, U.S. President Donald Trump stepped back until he resurfaced on a golf course in Florida.

During a time when the U.S. economy was in turmoil, Trump spent his time playing golf, dining with donors, and making carefree statements like “it’s a great time to be rich.”

According to the British newspaper The Guardian, this brought about comparisons to Nero playing the fiddle while Rome burned, or to insane monarchies disconnected from reality. It also provided a clear example of how Trump conducted his chaotic and extreme presidency: rushing from one public event surrounded by palace staff who often opposed him, paying little attention to traditions.

Democratic strategist Kurt Bardella stated that Trump is “definitely living in accordance with a caricature of a mad king.”

Whether addressing a ballroom in a tuxedo, telling people to take the medicine that hurts them, or enjoying countless golf vacations as economic chaos rages in this country and others, he is at best completely disconnected,” Bardella added.

“In the worst case, you are a sociopathic narcissist who does not care if anyone suffers. Eventually, there will be a political price to pay for this,” he concluded.

Trump’s biographer and New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman commented to CNN, “I think he gave up caring about certain things a long time ago and made it very clear in this presidency that he will do what he wants. He does not communicate this in a way that suggests he understands what average people are going through right now.”
