President Donald Trump expressed that if allowed to run for a third term, he would “really like” to see former President Barack Obama as his opponent.
During a press conference at the White House, President Donald Trump answered questions from journalists regarding domestic and foreign policies.
DESIRE TO SEE OBAMA AS RIVAL Trump mentioned that if he were to run for a third term for some reason, he would prefer Democrats to put forward Barack Obama as his competitor, stating, “I would love that. That would be a dream.” He continued, “I would love that. And now people are asking me to run.” Trump also mentioned that he hasn’t done any research on running for a third time but was told “there is a way to do it.”
TICKTOCK STATEMENT With the deadline approaching for the sale or shutdown of social media platform TikTok to an American company, Trump hinted that he might be willing to extend the deadline if needed. He said, “I am actually a very flexible person.” hinting at the possibility of using this flexibility for TikTok.
NORTH KOREA-US RELATIONS When asked about North Korea-US relations, Trump commented, “I have a very good relationship with Kim Jong-un. Now you hate to hear that, but that’s a very important thing. I get along with him so well.” Referring to North Korea as a “major nuclear nation” and Kim as “a very smart man,” Trump mentioned that they will probably “do something at some point” with North Korea.
