President Donald Trump claimed that the start of the war between Russia and Ukraine was permitted by former President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, stating, “We must stop this war now, and very quickly.”
President Trump, in a post on Truth Social, once again blamed Biden and Zelenski for the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Trump stated, “The war between Russia and Ukraine is not my war, it is Biden’s war. I am new here. President (Vladimir) Putin and everyone else respected your President. If the 2020 presidential elections were not fraudulent, which they were in many ways, this dreadful war would never have happened.” Trump emphasized that he had no connection to this war and continued, “President Zelenski and the fraudulent Joe Biden have done a truly terrible job by allowing this outrage to begin. There were many ways to prevent the start of this war. But that is in the past. Now we must stop this war, and very quickly.” Last week, Trump’s Special Representative Steve Witkoff met with Putin in Moscow, with the White House describing the meeting as positive and constructive.
CALL FROM ZELENSKI TO TRUMP
President Volodimir Zelenski of Ukraine had also made statements regarding the Russia-Ukraine War during the “60 Minutes” program on CBS News, inviting Trump to visit Ukraine.
Zelenski noted that Russia continues its attacks on civilians, saying, “Come, see, and then let’s act with a plan on how to end the war. You will understand who you are dealing with. You will understand what Putin is doing. Please, come and see our people, civilians, fighters, hospitals, churches, and destroyed children before any decision and any negotiation.”
