President Trump, who promised to end the Russia-Ukraine War in 24 hours before the election, said “I was being a bit mocking when I said that.”
A preview of the interview Trump gave to the “Full Measure” television program was shared.
In regards to his pledge to end the Russia-Ukraine War within 24 hours before being elected, Trump used these words: “I was being a bit mocking when I said that. What I meant was that I wanted to end it, and I think I’ll be successful.”
When asked about this promise, Trump stated, “Actually, I was being a bit mocking when I said that. What I truly meant was that I wanted to end it, and I think I’ll be successful.”
When asked what his plan would be if Russia did not accept a ceasefire proposal, Trump said, “It would be bad news for the world because too many people are dying. But I believe he (Russian President Vladimir Putin) will be of the same opinion. I really think so. I know him quite well. He will also agree.”
In a speech in May 2023, Trump used the words, “Russians and Ukrainians are dying. I don’t want them to die. I will end this, I will do it in 24 hours.”
