The President of the United States, Trump, demanded that Politico magazine, one of the leading American media organizations, quickly return the alleged 8 million dollars in funds it received from the government.
President Donald Trump, in a post on his Truth Social account, called on the Government Accountability Department (DOGE) to take action on the matter.
In the post, Trump requested that Politico return the alleged 8 million dollars in funds it received from the government as soon as possible. Trump stated, “What happened to the 8 million dollars given to the Radical Left Politico magazine by our government? This money, owned by rich men, must be reclaimed by DOGE as soon as possible.” Additionally, Trump referred to claims that the head of the EPA, Lee Zeldin, inappropriately gave 2 billion dollars to a coalition trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and demanded the funds given to a climate project that includes Democratic Party’s 2018 Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams also be returned. FOREIGN AID DECREE
Shortly after assuming the presidential office on January 20, Trump signed a decree regarding foreign aid. The decree stated that the United States would cut payments to foreign countries made by all ministries and agencies responsible for foreign aid programs, initiating a 90-day review period to assess the program’s alignment with US foreign policy. The US State Department also announced on January 27 that all foreign aid funded by the Department and USAID was suspended. Elon Musk, the head of DOGE, announced that due to issues with USAID executives, employees were placed on “administrative leave.” The agency’s social media accounts were also shut down. Subsequently, Washington District Court judge Amir Ali ruled for the temporary resumption of funding for all foreign aid programs funded by USAID that were halted by the Trump administration.
