2 Mins Read

President Donald Trump of the United States warned Moscow of imposing additional customs duties if Russia does not agree to a ceasefire. Trump also accused the Ukrainian government of attempting to renegotiate the rare earth elements agreement. The American President announced that his first foreign trip would be to Saudi Arabia for a one trillion dollar deal.

President Donald Trump issued a new warning to Russian leader Vladimir Putin. He declared that if a ceasefire is not accepted in Ukraine, he would indirectly impose a second customs duty on Russian oil. Trump stated, “I want to see him making a deal. 2,500 people are dying every week. I want to be sure he accepts the ceasefire… I think he will. I do not want to impose customs duties on Russian oil again. But if I think he is not doing his job, I will do it.” Trump had also announced that he could introduce a 50% duty on bilateral trade with countries that buy Russian oil.

REFERRING TO THE RARE EARTH ELEMENTS AGREEMENT President Trump also mentioned that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wanted to renegotiate the Rare Earth Elements agreement. He noted that the Kiev government brought up their NATO entry card for the Rare Earth Elements agreement. However, Trump revealed that there had already been agreements on the terms of the deal, and Ukraine was trying to renegotiate again. He reminded that Ukraine could not enter NATO, and this was one of the main reasons for the start of the war.

FIRST VISIT TO SAUDI ARABIA Trump announced that he would make his first foreign trip of the second presidential term to Saudi Arabia. He emphasized that during the planned visit in mid-May, a one trillion dollar investment agreement would benefit the American economy. President Trump will then proceed to Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, where similar agreements will be signed. “IT RESEMBLES THIS COUNTRY” Trump described the 5-year ban on running for office that was given to the far-right leader Marine Le Pen in France as a significant event. Referring to Le Pen’s lead in polls concerning candidacy, he made a mention of the lawsuits against himself. “It resembles this country,” he stated.
