The 47th president of the United States, Trump, announced that they will begin producing the F-47, a sixth-generation fighter jet.
Boeing will be manufacturing the new generation fighter jet named F-47 as revealed by Trump. He stated, “With my orders, the United States Air Force will transition to the world’s first 6th generation fighter jet, known as the F-47, a name chosen by the generals.” It is expected to replace the F-22.
The new generation fighter jet that will replace the F-22 after it enters service is said to be undetectable by radar and equipped with advanced features.
The project, expected to cost at least $20 billion in research and development, was put on hold last year due to high costs. The F-47, which is three times more expensive than the F-35, is estimated to cost at least $300 million each.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk, appointed by Trump as the head of the Government Efficiency Department, visited the Pentagon.
US media reported that Musk was briefed on plans regarding a possible conflict with China. Trump, refuting the claims as “fake news,” announced that Elon Musk will address the costs at the Pentagon.
Allegations have surfaced in Europe regarding F-35 fighter jets. It is claimed that there is a secret “kill switch” in the F-35s that the US can use remotely to render the planes unusable instantly. The manufacturing companies led by Lockheed Martin firmly deny these allegations.
