Tragedy in the Red Sea: Submarine carrying 44 tourists sinks

A tragic incident occurred on the coast of the Red Sea in Egypt, where a tourist submarine carrying 44 passengers sank, resulting in the loss of many lives. Reports indicate that at least six people died in the accident, with nine others sustaining injuries. The Russian Embassy in Egypt stated that all tourists on board were Russian, and that among the victims were many children.

Off the coast of Hurghada city in Egypt’s Red Sea, a submarine carrying 44 tourists sank.

It was reported that at least six individuals lost their lives in the accident, with nine sustaining injuries. Out of the 44 passengers on board, 29 were rescued safely. Four individuals with critical condition were transferred to nearby hospitals.

MANY CHILDREN WERE ON BOARD The submarine, named “Sindbad,” reportedly sank close to the port.

According to the BBC, the Russian Embassy in Egypt confirmed that all tourists on the ship were Russian, and that among the victims were many children. WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT THE SUBMARINE? Sindbad has been operating tourist trips in the Hurghada region for several years. The company claims to have two out of the world’s “14 recreational submarines.” Tourists have the opportunity to explore “500-meter coral reefs and sea creatures” by traveling up to 25 meters deep in the sea. According to the information on the Sindbad Submarines’ website, the submarine is equipped with 44 passenger seats, two pilot seats, and a large circular viewing window for each passenger.
