Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that the Tourist East Express 2024-2025 winter season voyages will commence on December 23rd. Due to high demand on the Ankara-Kars route, Regional Tourist Express Trains will also operate between Erzurum-Kars. Ticket sales will start from November 8th, with prices starting at 5,250 TL per person. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, disclosed that the Tourist East Express 2024-2025 winter season voyages will begin on December 23rd. Minister Uraloğlu indicated that ticket sales for the Tourist East Express started as travel packages through authorized travel agencies, stating that ticket sales for individual passengers’ compartments will also commence tomorrow. Minister Uraloğlu stated, “The Tourist East Express 2024-2025 winter season voyages will begin on December 23rd and continue until March 2, 2025. Departures from Ankara will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from Kars on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.” Minister Uraloğlu emphasized that they have adjusted departure times based on passengers’ demands, mentioning that the express will depart from Ankara at 13:55, along with 150 minutes stop in Erzincan, 240 minutes in Erzurum to allow passengers the opportunity to explore these cities. Uraloğlu shared that the express will depart from Kars at 21:05, with a 210-minute stop in İliç, 150 minutes in Divriği, and 180 minutes in Sivas. Uraloğlu highlighted that the Tourist East Express accommodates 8 berths and 1 dining car, mentioning, “During this period where we will organize a total of 60 voyages, our express with a capacity of 160 passengers will offer travel enthusiasts an unforgettable winter experience in 2-person rooms with home comfort.” Uraloğlu also mentioned that there will be other train services besides the express, stating, “Due to the high demand for the Tourist East Express, regional tourist express trains will also be operated between Erzurum-Kars. Regional tourist express trains are planned for 24 journeys with a capacity of 291 passengers, operating on Saturdays and Sundays from January 18 to February 23, 2025.” Abdulkadir Uraloğlu pointed out that the Tourist Diyarbakır Express voyages will take place from April 11 to May 25, 2025, stating, “These trips will depart from Ankara on Fridays and from Diyarbakır on Sundays, allowing passengers to discover cities with 3-hour breaks in Malatya on the Ankara-Diyarbakır route and 4-hour breaks in Elazığ-Yolçatı on the Diyarbakır-Ankara route.” Referring to new routes based on surveys conducted with passengers, Uraloğlu mentioned, “Our passengers have expressed their satisfaction with the unique views offered by tourist trains and the opportunity to explore new places, providing a different vacation experience. We believe that the intense demand will also extend to other routes. Currently, by special request, we are considering adding new tourist lines such as the Touristic Tatvan Train on the Ankara-Tatvan route, the Touristic Tuz Express on the Ankara-Çankırı route, and the Adana-Belemedik Express in the Mediterranean region.” Tickets starting at 5,250 TL per person can be purchased at TCDD counters, authorized agencies, mobile applications, and https://bilet.tcdd.gov.tr.
