Togg ranked first in the brand rankings with 17,049 units sold and a market share of 29% in the first 9 months of the year in the Turkish electric car market. According to information compiled from the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD) data, total sales of cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 0.9% to 849,892 in the January-September period compared to the same period last year. Car sales were 675,273, an increase of 1.3%, while light commercial vehicle sales decreased by 8.4% to 174,619 during this period. In the January-September period, the number of “fully electric” car sales increased by 56% to 60,838. The share of fully electric cars in total sales rose from 5.9% to 9% compared to the same period last year, while the share of hybrid cars increased from 10.8% to 16.3%. When considering “fully electric,” “extended-range electric,” and “hybrid” vehicles, it was observed that electric motor-equipped vehicles constituted 25.3% of the total market.
Togg Maintains a 10,022-unit Lead over Its Closest Competitor
According to ODMD data, Togg continued to lead the electric car market in the first 9 months of the year. Togg outperformed its closest competitor by 10,022 units with 17,049 units sold in the first 9 months of the year. During this period, Togg’s market share in the electric car market reached 29%. When looking at the electric car market on a brand basis, after Togg in the January-September period, Tesla followed with 7,027 units sold, and BMW followed with 5,651 units. On the other hand, looking at September, Tesla ranked first in the market with 2,475 sales in the 9,548-unit fully electric car market, while Togg ranked second with 2,200 sales, and Mini ranked third with 551 sales.
