How many Turkish Liras for a dollar or euro? What was the latest dollar exchange rate? The latest updates on currency exchange rates in the interbank market…

Optimism in the Turkish Lira continues this morning. The Dollar/TL was traded at 34.24 today. The Euro/TL, on the other hand, hovered around 36.07 percent. The Euro/Dollar was priced at 1.0741, experiencing a 0.11 percent decrease. Following the US presidential elections, the Turkish Lira positively diverged from other emerging currencies. The Lira became one of the rare currencies that could gain value against the strengthening dollar globally. Tomorrow, the year’s final inflation report will be closely monitored in domestic markets. In global markets, the interest rate decision of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will be watched today. Markets are pricing in a 25 basis points cut in the policy rate by the Fed today. The Bank of England lowered its policy rate by 25 basis points to 4.75 percent as expected. This marks the second interest rate cut by the bank this year. Analysts highlighted the low likelihood of Turkey and the US falling into disagreement on topics like trade and migration. It was noted that this expectation is the main reason for the optimism in the Turkish Lira. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call last night with Donald Trump, who won the US elections. President Erdoğan congratulated Trump on his election victory. President Erdoğan also expressed hopes of enhancing cooperation between Turkey and the US in the new period.
