Threads introduces new features to enhance user experience

2 Mins Read

Threads, developed by Meta, has released a series of new features to increase user interactions and make content sharing more effective. These updates allow users to reach a wider audience with their content, while also expanding the customization options offered by the platform.

FOCUSING ON TOPICS: TAGGING TO PERSONAL INTERESTS Threads enables users to add up to 10 topic tags (hashtags) to their profiles. These tags reflect the user’s interests and provide visitors to the profile direct access to relevant content. Additionally, when creating a post, Meta’s artificial intelligence algorithms offer suggestions based on trending topics or content shared by the user in the past, making it easier to select topics.

This feature aims to help users get more views on their content on the platform. According to Meta’s data, posts with topic tags have a higher engagement rate compared to regular posts.

RESPONSE CONTROL: MORE CONTROL OVER POSTS Users can now create posts that only their followers can reply to or quote. This feature stands out as an enhanced version focusing on quote control introduced in November 2024. This way, users have more control over who can view and respond to their content.

DEFAULT FEED OPTIONS AND VIDEO EXPERIENCE The new updates allow users to customize their feed on Threads by default. This feature makes it easier for users to focus on the content they want to see. Additionally, the video player has been redesigned to provide users with better control. Enhanced video playback controls aim to make content consumption more enjoyable.

Users now have options to speed up, slow down, or directly jump to a specific timestamp in videos. These features are ideal for detailed examination of video content or more efficient use in educational materials. Playback controls are consistently positioned at the bottom of the screen, easily accessible during video playback without creating any visual clutter.

Meta aims to position Threads more strongly in the world of social media with these innovations. The new features allow users to manage their content more effectively and establish more meaningful interactions on the platform.
