In the United States, a woman was arrested after killing her dog by suffocation in an airport bathroom, following being told she couldn’t bring her dog on an international flight. A 57-year-old woman named Alison Lawrence is facing serious charges over what the police described as the “cruel death” of her white miniature schnauzer named Tywinn. According to the indictment, Lawrence had gone to Orlando’s international airport on December 16, 2024, with Tywinn to fly to Colombia. Orlando police claim that paperwork issues prevented Lawrence from taking her pet on an international flight. Reportedly, Lawrence was seen entering a restroom near the ticketing area with her dog shortly after speaking with an airline representative for a few minutes in full view of security cameras. Allegedly, she emerged from the bathroom without the schnauzer in less than 20 minutes. Reports state that Lawrence returned to the terminal shortly after and headed to Colombia. A janitor allegedly saw the woman in the bathroom cleaning up water and dog food spills on the cabin floor. The employee later found the dead dog in a trash bin and reported it to their supervisor. The dog was reported to have had a service dog vest, leash, rabies tag, dog travel bag, and a bone-shaped tag with Lawrence’s name and contact information on it. A microchip implanted in the dog provided researchers with Tywinn’s identity. An autopsy confirmed that the schnauzer had died of suffocation.
