The world is witnessing a genocide: Israel’s atrocities in Gaza continue to increase every day

November 1, 20243 Mins Read

Israel has been bombarding and blockading the Gaza Strip for 392 days. The death toll in Gaza has exceeded 43,000, yet the international community seems content to watch the genocide against Palestinians. In Israel’s recent attacks, 47 people, mostly children and women, lost their lives. By using American weapons to massacre Palestinians, Israel does not seem inclined to end this war. The US, Israel’s biggest ally, has provided $17.9 billion in military aid to Tel Aviv since October 7. The ceasefire negotiations have reached a deadlock, with no expectations left on either side. There is almost no obstacle preventing the Middle East from being dragged into a regional war. The people of Gaza cannot even mourn their losses, as those who survived are trapped in a ring of fire. Palestinians are unable to access food and water, and 37 children have died from starvation in Gaza since October 7, 2023. According to the latest statement from the Gaza government’s Media Office, since October 7, 2023, 17,210 children and 11,742 women have been killed in ongoing Israeli attacks. Access to healthcare is also being denied to Palestinians. Hospitals and health centers have been targeted in the past year, resulting in the deaths of over a thousand doctors, nurses, and medical staff. Israel’s aim to completely destroy the healthcare system includes blocking the entry of medical supplies, medicines, and fuel to hospitals. The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that at least 47 people were killed in Israel’s recent attacks on central Gaza in Deyr el-Balah, Nuseyrat refugee camp, and al-Zawayda area. Most of the victims were women and children, with medical sources confirming that 47 bodies were taken to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deyr el-Balah after the Israeli attacks. Many of the victims lost their lives due to the bombing of several houses in the Nuseyrat area. As people rushed to rescue survivors after the first attack, the same houses were hit a second time, resulting in more casualties. The Israeli army accuses Hamas of using the Kamal Advan Hospital in Beit Lahia for military purposes, a claim that health officials and Hamas deny. After the recent attacks, the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip called on all international organizations to “protect hospitals and health personnel from the brutality of occupation.” The France-based international medical aid organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF) reported that one of their doctors, Mohammed Obeid, was detained by Israeli forces last Saturday while trying to provide healthcare in a severely violent environment. MSF called for the protection of Obeid and all health personnel facing horrific violence. Israel has conducted numerous raids on Kamal Advan Hospital over the past year, which is crucial for Gaza. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), vital for Gaza, has also been targeted by Israeli soldiers. UNRWA announced yesterday that Israeli bulldozers damaged the agency’s office in Nour Shams camp in the West Bank. Philippe Lazzarini, the head of UNRWA, stated on social media that the office had been severely damaged and was now unusable. Earlier this week, Israel passed a law banning UNRWA operations in the country and potentially hindering its work in Gaza. Lawmakers who prepared the bill claim that some UNRWA employees were involved in the October 7, 2023 attack in southern Israel and allege that these employees are members of Hamas and other armed groups.
