Rising to category 5 twice at sea but hitting the Florida coast as a category 3 storm, Milton Hurricane brought strong winds and heavy rains throughout the state.
It led to the formation of many destructive tornadoes. Authorities have warned residents about rising waters and flood risks after the hurricane leaves the area.

US Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas stated that the emergency situation in the state continues after the hurricane, saying, “Preventing an increase in the death toll is our job. However, we are dealing with a terrible storm and tornadoes that accompanied it.” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also mentioned that they have started efforts to restore power to over 2.5 million affected individuals and clear the debris from the destruction.
DeSantis reported speaking with US President Joe Biden over the phone and said, “He wants to assist us in these efforts.” Authorities had announced that flights would gradually resume at the state’s airports on Friday morning.
The US National Weather Service (NWS) had warned that the Milton Hurricane, intensifying in the Gulf of Mexico and heading towards Florida, could be the “strongest” in the past 100 years.They had done their best in preparing for the hurricane, as stated by US President Joe Biden, who remarked, “Milton seems to be the storm of the century.”
Milton came shortly after the Helene Hurricane, which hit Florida recently and resulted in the loss of 227 lives.
