President Donald Trump is once again in the spotlight with his tough policies towards irregular migrants. The goal is to deport a total of 1 million people this year. According to a report from the Washington Post, the Trump administration is preparing a comprehensive operation to deport irregular migrants in the US. This plan is on track to become one of the largest deportation operations in US history. Trump aims to exceed the record of 400,000 people deported in one year during the Barack Obama era. Agencies are reported to be holding daily meetings and continuing operational preparations in line with this goal. Trump’s promise to reduce the number of migrants had a significant impact on his voter base. Now, this promise has turned into a concrete action plan. Priority will be given to the 1.4 million people who have been ordered to be deported but have not been accepted back by their countries. In this regard, the Trump administration has initiated negotiations with 30 countries that can accept these individuals. Already, countries like Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama are reported to have received immigrants without citizenship. Furthermore, a daily fine of $998 is also planned to be imposed on irregular migrants who continue to stay in the US. The Trump administration also aims to utilize the method of directly sending some migrants to third countries.
