The Doctors Worldwide Association, supporting the campaign “The Difference Between Life and Death”, highlighted the ongoing hunger crisis in Gaza for the past 1.5 years following the ceasefire breakdown. With the aim of combating hunger in various regions, the Doctors Worldwide Association launched the campaign “The Difference Between Life and Death” and called for support. According to a statement from the association, they are implementing a treatment program for children under 5 years old, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers in countries experiencing hunger issues, and are supporting this project with campaigns to ensure its sustainability. As in every Ramadan, the association is calling for support to raise awareness in the fight against hunger through the campaign “The Difference Between Life and Death” this year as well. The Doctors Worldwide Association has been providing medical examinations and therapeutic nutrition treatment for malnutrition disease in countries such as Chad, Yemen, Somalia, and Afghanistan, where hunger crises are most prevalent. In these countries where malnutrition disease caused by inadequate and imbalanced nutrition is most common, the association is fighting for the survival of thousands of people with therapeutic food and special nutritious pastes (RUTF) tailored to the patient’s needs. Dr. Yahyahan Güney, the Chairman of the Doctors Worldwide Association, stated in the announcement that the breakdown of the ceasefire in Gaza brought to light the hunger crisis that has been ongoing in the region for 1.5 years, showing witness to the violation of the most basic right, access to food, and food security.
