A temporary agreement has been reached between the aviation giant Boeing and the union. The ongoing negotiations between the US-based global aviation company Boeing and the union have resulted in a temporary agreement, and it has been reported that the strike, which has been continuing for 5 weeks, will end if approved by the union members. The union, announcing the outcome of the ongoing negotiations with Boeing, disclosed the decision affecting around 33,000 employees. Union officials stated that an agreement had been reached to end the strike at Boeing and for employees to return to work, with the agreement set to be voted on within the union on Wednesday to be finalized. Recalling that some temporary agreements had previously been voted on and rejected within the union, union officials noted that the latest agreement included a 35% wage increase for the next 4 years for workers and additional benefits. Around 33,000 employees at Boeing had decided to go on strike on September 13 after refusing the company’s wage offer. The company had previously offered striking workers a 30% wage increase, performance bonuses, and improvements in retirement benefits for the next 4 years.
