Syrian Leader Assad Comments on Iran’s Attack on Israel as a “Lesson”

1 Mins Read

Syrian President Bashar Assad stated that Iran’s missile attack on Israel was a “strong response to the killing of Nasrallah and a lesson to Zionist presence,” during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi.

Assad emphasized that the attack on Israel by Iran on October 1st was a “lesson for Israel.” He mentioned that the attack, which came shortly after Israel’s killing of Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah, was a “strong response and a lesson to the Zionist presence.” Meanwhile, Syria’s state news agency SANA reported that the country’s air defense systems responded to “enemy targets” in the western rural skies of Homs today.

This news followed unconfirmed reports about a suspected Israeli drone targeting the town of Al Bukamal on the Syrian-Iraqi border. Israel has been targeting Syria along with Gaza and Lebanon for some time.

Israel had carried out an attack near a Russian air base in the Latakia region of Syria the day before with its warplanes.
