Sweden Provides €126 Million Aid to Ukraine

Sweden has announced they will provide €126.4 million in aid to Ukraine.

Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa revealed they will contribute €126.4 million in aid to Ukraine for reconstruction, development, and urgent humanitarian needs.

Ukraine is receiving support from European countries amidst the shadow of U.S.-Russia rapprochement. Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa announced that they will provide €126.4 million in aid to Ukraine for reconstruction, development, and urgent humanitarian needs.

During a press conference, Dousa stated, “Support for Ukraine is not just a matter of solidarity, but also concerns Sweden’s security. The past few weeks have not been easy. The world’s support for Ukraine is now more significant than ever before and cannot be underestimated.”

Described by Dousa as Sweden’s largest civilian aid program to date, the aid package includes support for rebuilding infrastructure, mine clearance, and training for healthcare workers.

FINNISH MILITARY AID

Finland’s Ministry of Defense has announced that they have signed a bilateral defense cooperation agreement with Ukraine. The ministry noted that the two countries have agreed to deepen defense cooperation, including arms sales, intelligence sharing, and ammunition production.

The ministry also stated that they will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth approximately €200 million, including artillery ammunition to assist in the conflict with Russia.
