The countdown has begun for the most productive fishing season in recent years in the Black Sea. Anchovy, which has been caught for the last two days, came out in abundance, surprising fishermen. To catch the plentiful anchovy, all boats have headed out to sea. Atif Malkoç, the President of the Samsun Fisheries Cooperative, stated, “We are experiencing the most abundant anchovy season in recent years. Boats from all regions of the Black Sea are competing to catch the anchovy, which is enjoying its golden period in the industry.” He added, “Anchovy fishing is a source of great joy for fishermen, and the fishing season is going very well. Our fishermen are pleased with this bountiful season.”

Malkoç mentioned that it is the first time they have experienced such a wealth of anchovy and said, “We are currently witnessing the most abundant period of anchovy in recent years. Fishermen have been enjoying the abundance of anchovy for the past 2 days.

Boats from all over the Black Sea have set sail. Previously, anchovy fishing, which used to start in April, now begins in March. All boats are now going after anchovy.

Anchovy is currently abundant all over the Black Sea. Thanks to God, anchovy, a fish used for industrial purposes, will save us. Not only does anchovy meet the need for fish oil and fish meal, but it also has added value as a fish.

If anchovy continues to be abundant like this, fishermen will make money. For the first time in many years, anchovy is so abundant.”
