The consumer confidence index rose by 4.6 percent to 85.9 in March. The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) has released the data on consumer confidence index for the month of March. According to the results of the Consumer Trends Survey conducted in cooperation with TURKSTAT and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the consumer confidence index, which was 82.1 in February, increased by 4.6 percent to reach 85.9 this month. This index has thus reached its highest level since May 2023. Therefore, the index has reached its highest level in 22 months. During the same period, the index was recorded at 91.1. The index for the financial situation of households in the current period was 65.6 last month and increased by 8.2 percent to 70.9 in March. The index for the expectation of the financial situation of households in the next 12 months was 83.1 in February and increased by 2 percent to 84.7 this month. The index for the expectation of the general economic situation in the next 12 months, which was 79.3 last month, reached 84.6 in March with a 6.7 percent increase. The index for the intention to spend on durable goods in the next 12 months was 100.3 in February and was calculated as 103.2 this month with a 2.8 percent increase.
