Foreign investors conducted a total of $480 million worth of stock purchases last week, marking the highest stock purchase by foreigners in the past 1.5 years. The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) released its weekly securities statistics. Foreign persons residing abroad made a net purchase of $480.1 million in equities during the week of March 14th. This figure represents the highest stock purchase since August 2023. Additionally, during the same week, foreign investors bought $1.4653 billion worth of Treasury Bonds and $2.6 million worth of assets outside of General Government Sector (GGGS). There was also a surge in demand for Treasury Bonds, reaching the highest levels in four weeks. As of March 7th, the stock of equities held by foreign persons residing abroad amounted to $34.5476 billion. By the week of March 14th, this figure had risen to $35.8006 billion. During the same period, the stock of Treasury Bonds held by foreign persons residing abroad increased from $19.6236 billion to $20.8754 billion, while GGGS stocks decreased from $740.1 million to $739.3 million.
