BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul began the day at 9,044 points, down 0.01 percent. At the opening, the BIST 100 index decreased by 0.98 points and 0.01 percent to 9,043.91 points compared to the previous closing. While the banking index lost 0.05 percent, the holding index gained 0.02 percent. Among the sector indices, the insurance sector showed the highest increase of 0.92 percent, while the financial leasing factoring sector had the most significant loss of 0.22 percent. The BIST 100 index, which followed a buying-weighted trend yesterday, closed the day at 9,044.89 points, gaining 0.15 percent. In the global markets, despite increasing expectations of a “soft landing” following the employment data announced in the USA, a mixed trend is observed due to the ongoing tension in the Middle East. Optimism persists in the US about the economy avoiding recession and bringing inflation down to the targeted level, while investors are focusing on the inflation data to be announced tomorrow. Analysts mentioned that the domestic data agenda would be calm today, and in the international arena, weekly mortgage applications, wholesale inventories, and the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting minutes in the US will be followed. From a technical standpoint, they noted that the resistance levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,200 and 9,300, with the support levels at 9,000 and 8,850 points.
