In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index started the day with a decrease of 1.01%, at 9,617.01 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index decreased by 98.57 points and 1.01% from the previous closing to reach 9,617.01 points. The banking index lost 1.85% and the holding index lost 0.74% in value. Among the sector indices, the highest gainer was the technology sector with 0.39%, while the mining sector was the biggest loser with a decrease of 2.29%. In the domestic market, the BIST 100 index, which followed a buying trend yesterday, closed the day with a 4.48% increase at 9,715.58 points. In the global markets, there is a positive outlook due to the expectation that U.S. President Donald Trump may show a more moderate attitude towards tariffs and the developments indicating a decrease in geopolitical tensions. On the other hand, a written statement from the Ministry of Treasury and Finance in Turkey stated that Minister Mehmet Şimşek and the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, Fatih Karahan, held a video conference with international investors and answered their questions on current developments. Şimşek mentioned in the meeting with international investors that all necessary steps are being taken for the healthy functioning and efficiency of the markets and he expects the impacts of recent developments on the economy to be temporary and limited, stating that necessary actions will be taken if needed in the future. Analysts noted that technically, the BIST 100 index has support at 9,600 and 9,500 points, with resistance levels at 9,700 and 9,800.
