The BIST 100 index on the Borsa Istanbul decreased by 0.2 percent to 9,696.16 points in the first half of the day. Moving in a downward trend in the first half, the BIST 100 index fell by 19.43 points and 0.2 percent to 9,696.16 points as of 13:00 compared to the previous close. The total trading volume was 61.6 billion liras. The banking index lost 1.75 percent, while the holding index decreased by 0.39 percent. Among sector indices, financial leasing factoring gained the most with 3.57 percent, while banking suffered the greatest losses. On the global markets, developments related to uncertainties regarding the US protectionist trade stance and geopolitical tensions are in focus. Analysts mentioned that the domestic data agenda is quiet in the afternoon, while durable goods orders in the US will be monitored abroad. From a technical standpoint, they noted that the BIST 100 index has support at 9,600 and 9,500 points, with resistance at 9,750 and 9,850 levels.
