The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul gained 0.34% in the first half of the day. Moving in an upward trend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index rose to 10,494.23 points as of 1:00 p.m., showing an increase of 35.15 points and 0.34% compared to the previous closing. The total trading volume reached 69.6 billion lira. While the banking index gained 0.57%, the holding index lost 0.09%. Among the sector indices, financial leasing factoring was the biggest gainer with 3.81%, while sports was the biggest loser with 2.04%. In the global markets, uncertainties increased due to changes in US President Donald Trump’s tariff approach, mixed with signals from macroeconomic data. All eyes are now on the release of non-farm payroll data in the US and the speech by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. Analysts point out that in the afternoon, the treasury cash balance domestically and Powell’s speech and non-farm payroll data in the US will be closely monitored internationally. They also noted that technically, the BIST 100 index has resistance at 10,600 and 10,700 points, and support at 10,400 and 10,300 levels.
