At Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index started the day with a 0.13% increase at 9,496.81 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 12.55 points and 0.13% to reach 9,496.81 points compared to the previous closing. While the banking index lost 0.02% in value, the holding index gained 0.32%. Among the sector indices, textile leather was the highest gainer with 0.76%, while stone earth was the biggest loser with 0.29%. Following a sales-heavy trend in the domestic market yesterday, the BIST 100 index closed the day at 9,523.31 points with a 1.41% loss. In the global markets, the selling pressure resulting from the tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump continued to be effective, with focus shifting to the statements of Federal Reserve (Fed) Chairman Jerome Powell and the non-farm payrolls data to be announced in the US today. Analysts pointed out that today, the real effective exchange rate in the domestic market and non-farm payrolls data in the US will be followed alongside Fed Chairman Powell’s statements, highlighting that technically, the 9,600 and 9,700 points are resistance levels, while 9,400 and 9,300 levels serve as support for the BIST 100 index.
