The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a 0.27% increase, reaching 8,677.75 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 23.36 points and 0.27% to 8,677.75 points compared to the previous closing. The banking index increased by 0.28% and the holding index by 0.33%. While all sector indices were making gains, the highest gainer was financial leasing factoring with 0.42%. Following a sales-weighted trend yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day with a 1.58% loss at 8,654.39 points. In the global markets, as expectations remain strong that the US economy may have a “soft landing,” a cautious stance prevails amidst the intensified earnings season, leading to a mixed trend. Analysts mentioned that today, the domestic data agenda will be calm, while in the international arena, the focus will be on the Richmond Fed manufacturing index in the US and statements from European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde. They highlighted that from a technical standpoint, the resistance levels for the BIST 100 index are at 8,800 and 9,000, with support positions at 8,600 and 8,490 points.
