The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a decrease of 0.05% at 10,453.65 points.
At the opening, the BIST 100 index fell to 10,453.65 points with a decrease of 5.43 points and 0.05% compared to the previous closing. The banking index lost 0.05%, while the holding index lost 0.27% in value. Communication was the sector index that gained the most with 0.46%, while sports was the sector that lost the most with 1.91%. In the domestic market, Borsa Istanbul followed a buying-oriented trend yesterday, with the BIST 100 index closing the day with a 2.65% gain, reaching 10,459.08 points.
UPWARD STEP RULE On the other hand, Borsa Istanbul decided to apply the upward step rule in short selling transactions on the shares included in the BIST 50 Index for the entire trading session today. Analysts emphasized that today, the Market Participants Survey of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) domestically, treasury cash balance, and internationally, Fed Chairman Powell’s speech in the US, non-farm employment, and growth data in the Eurozone will be monitored. From a technical standpoint, they noted that 10,250 and 10,000 points are support levels in the BIST 100 index, while 10,500 and 10,600 levels are resistance levels.
