The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 10,421.64 points with a flat trend.
The stock market in Borsa Istanbul continues to trade flat above the 10,000 mark.
At the opening, the BIST 100 index fell to 10,421.64 points, decreasing by 0.60 points and 0.01% compared to the previous close. While the banking index gained 0.29%, the holding index remained flat. Among the sector indices, communication was the biggest gainer with 0.87%, while forest products and printing had the highest loss with 1.68%. In the domestic market, the BIST 100 index, which followed a selling-heavy trend yesterday, closed the day at 10,422.24 points, losing 0.81%. In global markets, tension in trade due to increased tariffs by the US and signals from economic data reinforcing recession concerns are creating selling pressure. Furthermore, Borsa Istanbul decided to implement the uptick rule on shares included in the BIST 50 Index for intraday short selling transactions for one day. Analysts noted that retail sales domestically and the JOLTS job openings in the US will be closely monitored today, and from a technical standpoint, the support levels for the BIST 100 index are 10,300 and 10,250 points, while the resistance levels are at 10,500 and 10,600.
